Lift Chairs and Finding the Right Fabric

A lift chair is a personal lifting aid which has been designed to help those who have difficulty standing and sitting. People who suffer from mobility related problems, such as osteoarthritis or muscular dystrophy, frequently have trouble sitting. This is especially true in cases where you have been sitting for an extended period of time. A lift chair rises into the air and makes it very easy and safe to transfer from standing or sitting.

Lift chairs provide a very important service to people who are mobility challenged and are often doctor recommended. There are many different types and the two biggest manufacturers, Golden and Pride, manufacture many different models. There is a chair that will fit any home design and many also offer extra functionality. Space saver chairs are one popular type of lift chair, which can be placed very close to the wall and still recline.

With all the many different colors and fabrics available, it is easy to find something that will attractively fit your home. One very special type of fabric is a special polyurethane material called Brisa. Brisa is extremely stain resistant and almost all stains can be removed by simply using a damp soapy washcloth. Brisa comes in several different colors and is similar to suede.

Before you start looking at the many available lift chairs, it is a good idea to take a look at your existing furniture. This way you can compare the colors and fabrics that are available to your furniture and find something that will match nicely.
